I am sure there is simple answer to this but b*gg*r*d if I can find it.
Can anyone tell me how to send a picture attachment in Outlook Express without that picture also appearing in the body of the email on the recipient’s computer?

Off the top of my head it needs to be in a HTML format (should be in one of the menus in Outlook Express)
If it is try pasting the picture directly in to the body. If that doesn't work see if there is an Insert > Picture option. If my post helped you in anyway, please hit the "Thanks" button! Please note any advice I give is followed at your own risk!0 -
Thanks for the info
I am already set up in HTML format by selecting “Tools”/”Options”/”Send”/ “Mail Sending Format” and have no problem in sending pictures as attachments. But what I don’t want is for that attachment to appear in the body of the email.
It doesn’t show in the compiled email prior to sending but once the email has been sent it then appears as part of the message on the recipient’s copy and the copy filed in my “Sent Items” folder.
I seem to recall that with Outlook Express on one of my earlier computers you had to actively click on the attachment to open it, it wasn’t duplicated in the message itself, but I can't find any settings to alter this.

This is exactly the opposite of what the OP wants to do. He should try to send emails as plain text. Whether the attachment appears in-line also depends of the setting in the recipient's email client.
