  • 1 tip would be not to sell the laptop to anyone with no feedback. Also if they pay with paypal MAKE SURE they are a confirmed address.
  • You could also set your buyer preferences so that it blocks those from outside of the country from which you are listing, that should filter out most Nigerian scammers
  • Put some effort into the picture using your own digital camera. Make your laptop look really sexy :j

Hmm note down any serial numbers if there are any for your own reference. Just in case someone has an identical broken machine.

My tip would be to advertise it in your local paper or loot. I personally wouldnt sell somthing of value like that for fear of being scammed.

Wipe the HDD and be honest with the listing - make sure you pack it good
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.
  • Don't post by any other method that Special Delivery. And... It needs to be packed with 5cm of polysterene beads either side of it. If it isn't then the companies can say it wasn't packed properly. I think 5cm is the minimum requirement, doesn't sound like much. I'd use 10cm.

Hell. Local pickup only. There! that solves that one.

Always follow the following to stop yourself getting scammed.
Don't let any bidder with less than 5 positive feedback bid (cancel any bids that dont comply) and no.2 'DONT ALLOW PAYPAL AS PAYMENT' Pay via either postal order or bank transfer ONLY. This way you cannot be scammed.. Unknown to many you can reverse cheques after they have been cashed and you have the monies in your account and this can be done upto 6 months after it has been cashed.

  • You can prevent people with low feedback bidding IF they don't have a credit card on file. It's in buyer requirements.

If anyone's thinking of telling me I'm wrong, read the above again, carefully, then check the buyer requirements page if you're still in doubt :)

And if you do go for local pickup, don't accept Paypal as payment as you will have no acceptable proof of delivery and would be open to a non-delivery chargeback.
