Is it possible to get a cheque stopped or the money back once the cheque has been cleared? I bought something from ebay and the item no longer works and i was told that it was listed as stolen by Dell techie support it's a Laptop
The person i bought it from said he rang Dell up and they said they had no record of it being stolen, so why did they tell me it was and tell him it wasn't
I paid by cheque, is there anyway of getting my money back. This teaches me not to buy electrics from ebay. I don't know if he will refund me.

Unfortunately a cheque cannot be recalled purely because you have been apparently scammed.
All you can do is go through small claims court to recover your money that way.
You could try an ebay claim, not sure how effective it will be though and it doe shave an upper limit of £105. I don't know much about ebay claims though as I've never had to do one as I always use paypal, but I'm sure someone will be able to help.
