Rome or Barcelona....HELP PLEASE!

Hi Frugle!
If you've never been to either Rome or Barcelona, both cities are FANTASTIC! When in Rome I felt like I had to see/do everything, so it was a whirlwind but incredible weekend.
Barcelona in comparison was more chilled - still plenty to keep you occupied, but all the major sites are easily done in a weekend.
In terms of other destinations, check out Teletext or Expedia for other places on offer on the same dates...especially if mid-late Jan, there will be deals to be had...e.g. I got a fab long weekend in New York with flights and accommodation for £300...but wouldn't recommend NYC in Jan brrrr too cold!
Lisbon is nice and you could get the train to the coastal towns, e.g. Cascais.
Prague is beautiful and eerie in winter, but super cold so go prepared.
Venice?
Marakesh might be a nice exotic place, with warmer weather?
Or how about Nice as you could do one day skiing in the mountains and another day on the beach!0
