Hello
I applied for the above last night and had a call from Barclyacrd this morning at work. All they asked me for was to confirm my address DOB and certain characters from my memorable word.
They then said the application was still being considered and they'd write with their decision. What was the point of this, does anyone know?
Also, around 7 month ago I applied and had to send some docs back with my address on. I live in an apt block and people do write different thgings in each line of the address, for example street number alongside the flat number or flat number, then next line street number and name.
Barclaycard rejected my application as it didnt meet their fraud standards or such?? The only difefernce was the above flat number and street number together on one line and on the other doc flat number, then street number and name on the next...

They did the same to me, wrote some rubbish about fraud standards, and I know full well I didn't do anything fraudulent. Its just their standard excuse I think. Not a particularly pleasant one though, is it.0 -

No it wasn't nice at all, even wrote them a letter saying I have never been involved with fraud, and highlighted the small difference in address and the cheeky sods just sent me a standard letter back saying they'd write to me with their decision then never did, so i never bothered.0 -

It's because of the differences in the address format.
Their own anti-fraud and anti-money laundering regulations are very strict in regard to ensuring that the address provided on the application, on ID documents, and on your credit file are all identical.
I have this problem as my flats are not listed as such on the postcode database so some companies will not touch me.
Check your Equifax report, and ensure that a) the address your electoral role registration is at matches the address your credit accounts are at exactly
b) make a note of your address, in the format Equifax report it, verbatim.
This is exactly how it should be typed in on your credit application.
When I apply for cards that search Equifax, the first line I enter is:
2 81 Anytown Road
Where "2" is the flat number, "81" is the door number. I don't enter the word "FLAT" and I don't use a comma or put anything on a second line. This I find enables the creditor to match me on the electoral role etcCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

It know what you mean izools, but it really was ridiculous.. tiny difference that i have never even blinked an eyelid about before.
Thing is I keep telling my utility people they have it wrong, and they change and its wrong again when i get a bill.. I have never bothered with it before.. but obviously its a problem in some peoples eyes.
If I get bills that are all identical and send them to Barclaycard hopefully this will do the trick? The girl I spoke with did tell me it was the difference between the two bills although she did see it was only slight.0 -
