Can't see a thread on this, apologies if there is one.
Just wondering whether this affects people with savings in both camps, i.e. if the total exceeds £50K.
I'm assuming not, as presumably RBS still hold savings separately from branch control, but just thought I'd check.

It doesn't actually answer my question though. I have £50K with Santander's existing acquisitions and £17K in NatWest. Will they all be under the same ownership (NatWest being in the same group as RBS I believe) as regards guaranteed security?

Your Natwest savings will not be moved or affected unless they are held in a Scottish branch. Even then the savings guarantee is being raised to more than £67,000 before the transfer is to take place.0
