Well everyone round here thinks I'm mad anyway as I actually bake stuff
but this site had made me focus on my life in general. We had to sit down and take a long hard look at what was going on,what we spent, why we spent it as well as what it was doing to us as a family. Our life is immeasurably better now in so many ways and as a lot of the stress is lifting we all feel happier and more settled. The only problem now I have is my cupboards which are crammed solid with all the latest BOGOF's,bargains and Stardrops...:rotfl:

fortunately for me it was redundacy that made me sit up and take note, at that time (1986) I thought I had a good job for life and earning and spending was not an issue until I was told I am redundant. came ashore got another job with a wage of £4000 less than what I was earning, I was young with a new house, a baby and a few debt which I manage to clear with my redundancy pay, I thought to myself I need to start doing something about my financial situation that is when I decided to work out a budget according to what I was earning because at the time my aim was to retire at 55. during the first 5 yrs I done a lots of sacrifices like not going on holidays not buying clothes to make sure that my family have everything, looking back now I am glad I did what I did at the time otherwise I will still be slogging hard until I am 65Yung
