Has being a DFW helped you in any other areas??

Erm... no not like that... but after a few weeks of looking after the pennies I feel like I have improved my life in other areas:

Not only am I better with money I think I have become generally more organised at work and at home, planning my time more efficiently - I feel like I am getting loads more done in a day even tackling the dreaded housework! Productivity at work has gone up, appart from when I am on here!!

I feel like I am more likely to argue my case and stand up for myself when I dont feel like I am treated fairly, not just with money!!

Watching what I spending each week on groceries, means I am actually eating better, taking the time to cook 'proper' meals and not eating junk!!

Even though I am on a budget, my weekends seem to be more exciting as I am taking the time to organise activities before hand. Also feel like I am able to see a lot more of my friends by doing this!

Just wanted to say thanks and is this the case for anyone else????

    Danielle,

I pressed the "Thanks" button on your post as you've hit the nail on the head perfectly! I've been much better at work, much more organised in general life, much more goal-focused and generally happier.

DFW-ers - you're all stars. Give yourselves a big pat on the back! :D

  • So so true - I find i have more energy which I attribute to eating more healthily - no take aways or stodgy handy snacks or sandwiches ( dont get me wrong, i MISS them!!)

I am also sleeping better and I think that is predominately down to not worrying about money QUITE so much as before.

I am also much more assertive - I feel like i have learnt more about my rights in the last 2 months than in 33 years!!!

I am organised and research things more ... and I am addicted to this FANTASTIC site which means that I don't surf on sites that make me spend money!!!

It has been very positive to me in alot of ways - if you gain full control in one part of your life...others just follow on naturally.

    1) I feel calmer and less hectic in general.
    2) Everything around me is more organised, preplanned and thought out. My house is tider and life has been simplified to a really, pleasant degree.
    3) I have been eating healthier with lots of home cooked food and making packed lunchs. Combined with walking to work I have lost a few pounds too :)
    4) It has made me more environmentally conscious - I have been recycling, giving away, revamping and reusing rather than just throwing stuff away.
    5) I am less wasteful and are more observant to others being wasteful.
I use left over food and frequently go around the garden looking for resources. Today I have collected some lavender to make into scent parcels and some victoria plums from the tree to make some fruit in alcohol for christmas presents.
    6) I dont have that empty feeling that "MORE" is "NEVER ENOUGH".
    7) It feels good and productive saying to my son "No, you can't have that. You don't need/haven't earnt that" rather than previously saying "Yes, of course you can have it". I am hoping he learns these valuable lessons too.

    Bams x.x
  • I'm a little more organised.
I'm looking to the future now instead of not looking at all.
I'm able to start making plans.
I watch less TV and visit the library now (finding my inner Geek again!)
I know what I should and should nt be paying for alot more than I did!
  • I'm lots better at working from home. I spend the time actually working now as opposed to popping out for things.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

I'm not the only one then:rolleyes:

Like many others, I find that I'm:
    Eating better and more regularly
    Unpicking habits of a lifetime
Learning more about myself and the 'inner' me
Much more aware of my situations and rights
Feeling more informed about the world as a whole
Passing on my wealth of information to any poor soul!
Less conformist i.e latest shoes/fashions. Haven't turned into a hobo lookalike though I'd just add!
    A happier person all round!
