Wow BB - suddenly lots of options! I'm sure you'll work it out :)

I seriously need to get rid of some annoyance before I get home - today has been hassley and I know I'm likely to take it out on Mr S after the 'many texts' scenario!

glm~Do Dominos pay above the minimum wage?

Yes and no, I get the minimum wage for a 21 year old despite only being 20 so they don't have to change my file when I turn 21 at the end of this month.

    Right - home time.

Was hoping to get a second gym session in but finished about an hour later than I hoped so it will be too mobbed for a shy thing like me so I shall go home & cuddle my boys instead :D

Milk and More had a real bashing a while back from an offer they couldn't cope with. I used it for the £4.50 off no minimum spend offer and it did right itself eventually but lots of people were charged and they kind of went into meltdown for a while.

Done a bit of a mini-SWOT analysis of the jobs. At the moment I don't have interviews for any of them so I'm getting a bit ahead of myself but what a bummer they've all come at once - particularly with the one where I work also being advertised. Could have done with them delaying until next month really - they aren't normally that quick to sort something! I'd still have a small amount of evening teaching over the year as I'm committed to that if the courses fill up.

Job A: Where I work now. Salary will be 21.7k and would pay the bills and around £100 surplus
    Strengths:
Like the place (small place, 30 staff), like the people, know the systems, procedures etc
takes 2 minutes in the holidays to drive there, 4 minutes in term time!
Natural addition to what I do in my afternoon job
More things to add to my CV

    Weaknesses:
I'd be completely on a casual contract and be giving up my permanent staff status - my morning job is permanent. Means I could be given a months notice at any time until they make it permanent if and when the merger ever happens.
Could make me get into a familiarity rut quite quickly as I've been there over 2 years now and I'm getting a bit hungry for new mental stimulation at work.
No progression unless someone in another department leaves
Not enough for me to fix my mortgage when the rate starts to rise

Job B: Starting salary 21k and then 22.5k after a year with progression to 32k over time. Bills paid and small surplus each month for first year, then bigger surplus in yr 2.
    Strengths:
Good pay band to work up
I'd get the holidays paid as it's a teaching post
This is what re-training was all about!

    Weaknesses
On top of working I'd have to do the Diploma year of my teaching qual and it is a full on commitment, not really in the mood to do that
It's a 10 mile round trip in slow moving traffic so would mean more time getting to work and back and extra petrol
    There's a 1 evening a week commitment
By the time I've paid the extra petrol, the surplus on the salary would be tinynon-existent
It's an on the feet teaching job in cookery and I'm gritting my teeth to do the evening teaching I currently do
No term time (ie cheap!) holidays
Not enough to fix the mortgage when the rate starts to rise

    Job C 27-30k
    Strengths:
AMAZING salary. I could save nearly £500 a month on the starting pay
About a 5-10 minute drive to work, nice and close
Excellent company, real international big money place
Good use of the experience I've gained over the last 2 years including my teaching work (it's a training officer post)
Enough to fix the mortgage rate as soon as I need to
    Weaknesses
The calibre of applicant will be very, very high and I would really have to pull something out of the bag

    Job D: Salary is 23k
    Strengths:
Excellent organisation to work for, really look after staff
Lots of opportunity to progress/move in other directions when time is right
I've been put forward for it by someone

    Weaknesses
Salary isn't enough to fix the mortgage rate if the rate starts to rise

With regards to the mortgage, if it started to rise quickly I would have to look for something else urgently if my salary didn't cover re-fixing, but it would be good not to be in an emergency situation.

They all have similar closing dates, Job A is 10 Aug, B is 5 Aug, C is 15 Aug and D is with an agency but went live yesterday.

I'd love job D because it would solve everything financially and is the job that excites me the most. I could pull from my current job and my teaching experience and added together it completely fills the criteria.

All are a step back in the right direction, although D would get me where I need to be without any more working myself into the ground and I've had a lot of that in the last few years!!
