    There are 2 versions.
The European model and the UK & Ireland model.
Both are M400 but the UK & Ireland model isn't reduced as much as the European one.
I was also told to check around 9.30 am tomorrow to see if any more European models were delivered.

I've got 1 here, setting it up for my wife.
Wouldn't mind another for my car.

Where is the download for the 2010 map?
I've had a quick look around but haven't seen this.

    Thanks
    Brian

Thanks Brian but the one on offer online says UK, Ireland AND Western Europe ;)
  • UK and Ireland are in Western Europe so you get all of the maps.
The other only has UK and Ireland maps.

I can't update mine as I run Windows 7 and the software doesn't appear to like it.
I'll try again tomorrow on my XP setup.

I am no expert on this but all I did was pop the supplied cd in the PC and select install. The mio software loads and puts an icon on the desktop. The software then updates itself and subsequently updates the unit. This does not take long. It may also put another icon on the desktop.

The map will then update. If it does not then open the Mio software from the desktop icon and select the map option from the upper lhs and select the free option. You may end up with two desktop icons and as they both open the same program (check) you can delete either of them. (I deleted the 2008 one). The icon will be in the recycle bin if you want to restore it.

You will obviously need to connect the unit to the PC via a spare USB port. The map update took about half an hour on a fast broadband.

PS I am on windows 7 and it worked fine.

    Unless it has changed.
Currys & PC World only gives the option to reserve and collect if they have more than 2 of the item in stock. So it might still be worth a call or better yet popping in. You can also ask them to check the area for stock, it is easy for them to do and you confirmation email has the 6 digit stock code. Also it confirms the right price and model.

For everyone who was fobbed off but had a collection confirmation. Pop into the store that called to say they had none and ask for the manager. Whilst there ask him to check Eclipse (till system) for all sales of that item and the times they went through. If the staff pulled a fast one they likely sold them all after they had called to cancel them.

Normally I am all for staff getting the bargains first it's the only MNW perk in a shop, However if they only notice the price when someone has reserved it then it's their problem for not being on the ball.

I used to work for DSGi and I knew how to look for bargains ;) 47 quid PCs & laptops, 47p games you name it we could spot them ;) admittedly a few years ago now.

Thanks for all the useful installation help. Unfortunately my MAC doesn't seem to like the software :(

Runs fine on 32-Bit Windows 7.

    I suspect you have 64-Bit.

    Try downloading this update:

and then this Windows 7 64-Bit patch:

  • Hiya, Tried the updates but it still didn't work.
I'm now updating it on an old xp unit and it's running fine. (although the server was down for maintenance first thing).
The new map is being downloaded now.

The store I picked my sat nav up from had another model of Navman F?? (sorry, can't remember) at £34.95
It too was the widescreen type of unit.
