Offer accepted, Valuation Done, Mortgage offer being made...

I've now reached the point where pretty much everything is done.

I've been informed today that Alliance and Leicester are happy with my application and are now going to proceed to the formal offer which I should sign in the next couple of days.

Once I receive that paperwork my solicitor has advised that I should contact him at that point. I assume this is to talk about the contracts etc.

Again, being a first time buyer, is there anything I should be looking out for? Insisting upon? My seller had previously stated that most of the furniture would be left which helped me agree to the price I offered. This, I take it, should be in the contract?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi NASA, yes your solicitor should pass on a fixtures and fittings form that will have been filled in by the seller. It will detail exactly what they are leaving, so make sure it corresponds with what you agreed when you made your offer. If you are not happy about any of it, just let your solicitor know

    Thanks for the reply.

Solicitor said to wait for paperwork to come through before going in for appointment, which makes sense, so will go through it then.

I have an e-mail from estate agent saying that vendor would be leaving almost all of the furniture. Know its not exactly a legal declaration but I'll show solicitor the e-mail anyway.
