In need of some help, booked a holiday for next year on the 17th july just gone through Thompson holidays on the telephone, I recieved an e-mail from thompson confimring the booking, but when my paper work arrived i find the holiday has been booked through sky tours and the operator is First choice (First choice is an operator i said i would never use again) i Telephoned the number on the booking confirmation i received through the post and they said they were first choice and now all part of the same company, but im not at all happy with this, do i have a right to get my £500 deposit back as i feel ive been completely mis informed ?
On a second note and to make me even more frustrated i have searched this holiday again through thompson as i rerally wanted to travel with them and have noticed the price is some £900 pound cheaper than when i booked it 3 weeks ago, maybe i have not got a leg to stand on here ,but any advice would be very helpfull. First Choice are now part of Thomson, no difference. Same flight, same transfers, same reps, just with both companies logos on their t-shirts0

I fail to see where the misinformation is. The Thomson brochures and website make it very clear that they are part of Tui UK.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Skytours, First Choice and Thomson are all the same company, as others have said.
Skytours was a Thomson brand before TUi took over First Choice anyway.
You haven't been mis-informed.
It would appear what you asre really after is your money back so that you can book the same holiday again for £900 less.
You aren't entitled to this either.
If you had seen that the holiday had gone up by £900 since you booked it, would you have popped another cheque in the post to make up the difference? NO? Thought not.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
You could in theory cancel your first reservation loosing the £500 deposit. And then rebook at £900 cheaper, you'd still be £400 better off?0

I'm the same as squashy, I vowed never to use them after hearing horror stories from FC customers on three different holidays (i was with other companies). So to avoid first choice the only way is to not book with ANY tui company?0

First Choice are Thomson, Skytours, and anyone else thats part of TUI. They are no different, and are fine to travel with.
If you wish to book a package holiday and refuse to use TUI, the only mainstream companies you are left with is the Thomas Cook Group and Cosmos.0 -

even if you book with thomson it will be on same planes (thomson airways) in same accomodation and the same staff in resort it would have been no different.
as someone else said you could cancel and lose £500 and rebook for £900 cheaper and still be £400 better off.0
