I agree - there is alot of mis-information out there! Had I not found this site I might still be drowning in debt and in a cardboard box.

I've complained as well.
I know it's a light hearted, tabloid news kind of show, but if they insist on tackling serious subjects then they should at least have the decency to research them properly.0 -
Don't know RA, she was in York, I am going to sit down later and look into a bit more I think as it could be very useful. Will update with my findings.
Many thanks.
I was interested for the benefit of my friends in AA as they find it very difficult obtaining private rentals.Living Sober.

I've complained as well, I think the beeb need to be aware of how misleading this report by Dom was.0

Ive always seen Dominic Littlewood as more of a "comedy" character.
Have never taken him seriously and watching him doing this piece on bankruptcy has completely re-affirmed my belief!!
Complete joke by the bbc with none or very little research put into it whatsoever.
I feel sorry for the obviously mis-informed individual Dom was interviewing! I mean the bank deciding what she can withdraw???
There was no mention of the fact that bankrupts can apply succesfully for a BASIC bank account (unless it is a previous creditor in some cases).
I love paying my licence fee for this twaddle I really do.:rotfl:0 -
Lazy journalism from a BBC reporter who is paid more than the Prime Minister.
And another one:One debt expert said today that Ferguson would benefit from bankruptcy, even if it proved an embarrassing experience.
Richard Sorksy, a senior counsellor with the UK Insolvency Helpline, said: "It's a simple civil court procedure costing around £500 which will enable her to walk away from every single penny of her debt. If your assets are of a lesser value than your debts and if your income is not great enough to meet your expenses, it's generally a good option."

That is crazy! if your assets aren't of a lesser value than your debts then you're not insolvent!0

I'm amazed at the number of people who think Dom Littlewood actually does his own research or writes his own lines. There are a lot of presenters out there who do but I don't believe Dom Littlewood is one of them. He'll probably have a team of researchers doing it all for him on very little pay whilst he gets huge amounts of money and all the credit for anything good that comes out of it. I'm sure he's a nice enough man but that's just the way TV works.
He may be a champion of consumer rights these days but he spent most of his working life as a used car dealer and according to his own website "made his first TV appearance on Channel 4's 'Faking It', where he taught a vicar how to be a salesman in just one month."
The man is a skilled blagger and has somehow blagged himself a nice job on TV.
*EDIT
That being said, I wish I could blag myself a job like that!0 -
Did anyone who complained get any sort of reply or acknowledgement?
