I didn't declare CCJ's because I was never asked until the interview. As I have said, the reason I never mentioned the present ones is because I didn't know we had them. I haven't asked for a credit history report in many years. Had I told them point blank that I have no other CCJ's I would agree and say it looks like I was withholding informaion but I said I wasn't sure of any more. Also if you are interviewed for two hours, asked over 50 questions and one of them is about past CCJ's but fail to remember or you are not aware of every one then it seems very unfare that assumptions can be made of your honesty by simply not being aware of your credit history. How many people in the UK have CCJ's? and do all these people let insurance companies know they have them? I am not a criminal, I am a hard working full time employee with a respectable position and I don't take too kindly to being called a liar! I am under the impression that insurance companies are too quick to try to get out of paying legitimate claims, if they throw enough mud are they hoping some may stick!

Please ignore Judas

As was explained to me a couple of days ago - he's for some reason a 'troll' or wind-up merchant who simply uses this site to antagonise people. Apparently he's been banned by money saving expert several times and continually comes back with a new username and reverts back to trying to wind people up.

If he's ignored, he will go away.

We are warned about AEs (alter egos), and asked to report any:
If you feel someone is trolling or is an AE who you feel is still causing disruption please report them to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com. Do not respond to them on the forum - that makes things worse

AA told me that apparantly CCJ's comes under convictions, .

CCJ's don't come under convictions that us incorrect. For Insurers to take action they must be able to demonstrate that they asked you the question(specifically referring to CCJ's) when you took the policy out. If they did not they can't penalise you now.

send a written response to Insurers conveying your disappointment in the way the matter has been dealt with and that will invoke their complaints process. Ask them to confirm in writing that they have reviewed the call recording and that you were asked about CCJ'S and did not disclose them. If they cannot demonstrate that you were asked the question then they will be unable to take any further action. .

Thank you all for your advise. The update is AA told me ( I got a someone with common sense this time) Fortis emailed them asking what questions they ask, AA told them they don't want to know about CCJ's and they can't withhold the claim because of this so pay up. I think there could be light at the end of the tunnel guys. The man from AA phoned them to ask what they were playing at and guess what? they said they have never rejected my claim and no letter was ever sent to me! I got a letter from fortis this morning which reads the same - no claim has been rejected and it is with their underwriter awaiting their decision.
