My references for a good tenant always go something like this -
To whom it may concern
(tenant name) has been a tenant with us for
(period of time). During this time they have always behaved in a responsible manner and kept the property in a very good state.
I would unreservadely recommend
to any future landlord.
Please feel free to contact me for further information.
yours faithfully

Our landlord said we were a delightful family. LOL
The children must have been on extra good behaviour that day ...0 -
if i got this, i would assume there was a problem and would want to phone the landlord !! but then maybe i am a bit of a cynic - i would have wanted to read "paid the rent every single month on time" - thats the most important thing any landlord is looking for !!!0
