Lloyds Joint Account - Debit Card Design

Hi all,

My first post on this forum. Hope i am in the right place, and i hope my question isn't too silly.

I just signed up for a join account with Lloyds with my long term girlfriend. We are both with lloyds already. Anyway, i goy my new debit card through, its exactly the same as the one i already have (except the numbers). I also have a Lloyds airmiles duo credit card, the mastercard is also very similar to both the debit cards i have. I know at some point i am going to make a mistake ( i have already withdrawn cash on my credit card by accident).

So my question is, can i get lloyds to provide me a different design? I know i can upgrade the account, i'm already on silver vantage and dont really want to pay the extra for cover i don't need.

Thanks in advance

Thats the one i have on both cards, my Lloyds mastercard is the same colour :(
  • My parents operate the permanent marker system on their cards. Seems to be pretty effective :)

I agree it is very confusing that the debot card looks identical to the credit card tho, but I suppose you wouldn't get very far when you put in the wrong pin number!

alternatively, you can use a pin that's 1 digit higher/lower on the credit card than the debit card.

You should see First Direct's cards. At least with Lloyds the debit card is Visa and the credit card is Mastercard. With First Direct both cards are Visa, and the only difference is that one of them has the Visa Symbol at the top, and the other has it at the bottom. I've used the wrong one several times.

My PIN numbers are the same for both cards. I set them like that so I wouldn't forget the number.
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. I think the bank could be more helpful with the designs, but hey.

I have all my PIN numbers set to the same number on all my cards. Perhaps operating different PINs is the answer. I can always just shift the money aound if i spend on the wrong account.

Thanks again all. I will def be using the forums again!!
  • I have another idea on this. If i sign up to the Lloyds introductory gold account offer (£7.95 a month for 3 months) get a gold debit card, then cancel the downgrade back to the silver account.

Would i get to keep the gold card?? Is this even possible??
