Problem car?

Hi all,
I'm after some advice from those wiser than I.
Just over 3 months ago I bought a second hand Audi for £7500.
It came with a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty that I neglected to get in writing! About 6 weeks later the turbo stopped working so I took it to a garage recommended by the dealer that I bought it from because I couldn't get the car back to him because he's in Bristol and I'm in Exeter. Anyway, garage said it was the turbo and recon'd it for £650. I managed to get a contribution from the dealer of £250 as it didn't come under 'engine and gearbox' Not too happy but better than nothing. It turned out to not be the turbo and something else but the replacement turbo had been ruined by the existing fault as well. So now I've got to pay for the second/third turbo unit and the part that caused it all in the first place. All in all I'm about £850 out of pocket. Will find out tomorrow if it is or isn't in fact the head gasket, in which case, if it is am I entitled to a complete refund as this is part of the engine? And also, even if it isn't, does the SOGA cover me for all my expenses anyway? Please, I'm not after opinions, I need something concrete before I next speak to the dealer that sold me the car. Thanks in advance...

My tip? Ring to see if the service manager is there or the dealer principal. If they are in physically go there and demand to speak with them.

What actually caused the fault? Some warranties well most warranties are useless but some state they
do not cover damaged to parts caused by another item.

£7.5k and less then three months I’d say you are still in SOG territory as far as major engine faults are concerned.

The problem you are going to have is you have let an incompetent garage loose on it so the dealer is likely to blame everything on them

The garage was recommended by the guy that I bought the car from because I couldn't get back up to Bristol to see him personally. I don't think there is an issue with incompetence here, it is trial and error most of the time and the turbo not working would indicate a turbo fault as it is common at around this age, but in this case, it wasn't. Hoping to get my car back tomorrow, minus £800 in total. I think legal advice is called for, was hoping to hear from somebody in the know, thanks all the same.....
