Welcome finance - has anyone had any success- PPI REFUND

Just wondering if anyone has had any success stories with Welcome and how much of a 'battle' did they put up? I have submitted the questionaire a few weeks ago, and the PPI totals over £3000. Fingers crossed!

    Hi and welcome

Yes many have been successful with reclaiming from these.

Was Welcome Finance the ones who set up and sold your loan?
If so you have done the right thing in pursuing these.

Also check on the above success threads, you may come across others who have succeeded through this company, good luck and please keep us posted.;)

Thanks for your prompt replies. I phoned them last week and surprise surprise, I couldn't get through. I was holding nearly every day for 50 mins + and still no answer. I just wanted to know that it was being dealt with, and eventually today I was told it will be looked at within the next 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed! x
  • hi i sent WFS a letter requesting the PPI refund (i think i got it off this site actually) and they sent a letter saying they were investigating it being mis-sold to me, then they agreed it had been mis-sold and sent me a cheque for the refund . I don't bother ringing them if i can help it because their "customer service' advisors that i've spoken to seem like trainees and don't have a clue - at least by writing to them you've got a chance it may actually get to the right person! I have to say i was expecting a bit of a struggle with them but it went pretty smoothly

Hi Evenstar, Can I ask what reasons you put on your form for why it was mis-sold. The PPI I paid with this loan came to over £3000. I remember them telling me my application would be looked un unfavourably if I didn't take it. At the time I was in full time employment with 6 months full pay/6 months 1/2 pay, and they never asked me about what other cover I had, I feel really aggrieved about it. I have sent in the forms so fingers crossed x

Hi tufters01, basically the reason they agreed it had been mis-sold was because they only gave me the monthly repayment figure with the PPI added on and never informed me of the alternative. Also the way it was sold was that 'oh and you also get protection insurance with this..." rather than 'do you want the option of PPI. The original paperwork didn't show the figures without PPI on them either so they agreed to refund it plus the interest on the higher amount that i'd paid.

It sounds like you have a good case if they were telling you it be more likely to be accepted if you took PPI !! I think they are supposed to ask you if you have cover and if not they can inform you about PPI but it sounds to me like you were mis-sold it
