Where do I stand with Tefal

Suggest it's worth phoning Tefal again to see if you get a more helpful service advisor (like the first one you spoke to). Of course, if you don't then take the matter up with Makro under SoGA.0

Phoned Tefal again today, got an equally unhelpful customer advisor who informed me that the lady I spoke to yesterday was the team manager:eek:
They couldn't offer anything diffrent, so I asked if we could buy a replacement motor and try and fix it ourselves. They said we couldn't, the main reason being, the product could become faulty and dangerous.............................:rotfl:The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.0 -
Makro is a wholesaler not a retailer, if you had bought it from a retailer you would have consummer rights behind you, these rights are not retospective for the retailer to the wholesaler.
To be entitled to Makro Tradecard you need to be in business or authorised to buy on behalf of a business.0 -

We have been through this!!!
It is true that this may make the OP ineligible to use the Makro Card, but they cannot contract out of consumer obligations. Whether a person is a consumer is a matter of fact.0 -
Contact Makro and ask to speak to a manager, tell the highest ranking person you can speak to that you are concened about the safety of others as well as your own problem. If he will not play ball tell him you will be going to the small claim courts to claim back the cost of the faulty equipment.
If that doesn't work send them a registered letter asking for your money back and tell them that you will be starting a small claims action if you do not get it wilthin 14 days.
After 14 days do it https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome0
