sales of goods act on online (only) eletricals?

Hi, this may seem a silly question but does the full (ie;5 years after the manufatcurer's warranty) sales of goods act for eletrical items still apply for items bought on online from online only companies only, such as amazon, play, dixons, pixmania etc?

Not sure what you mean about 5 years after manufacturer's warranty but the SOGA applies to the Sale of Goods, regardless of medium. These are your given statutory rights that a retailer cannot override.

Edit: This only applies to UK based companies. Pixmania etc are governed under the law where they are based so it may not apply etc.

Pixmania i believe are covered by French Law. Play are covered by the Jersey Sales of Goods Act which is basically the same as the UK one, but enforcing would be a lot more difficult.

With Amazon you are covered unless you buy from a private seller via the marketplace.

We would need more details. How long ago did you buy the item, what is wrong with it, how did you pay, have you contacted dixons?

5 years after the manufacturers warranty would suggest the item is 6 years+?
