Glass on Windscreen

Hi, I woke this morning to find that the local thugs got bored last night and smashed a glass bottle against the windscreen of my car. The windscreen itself seems undamaged except that some glass has transferred from the bottle onto the windscreen. What is the best way of cleaning this off?

You mean there is little bits of glass in the screen now?

I'd pick them out by hand, otherwise you could actually scratch the windscreen if you tried to wipe them off.

Use a plastic scraper (old credit card?) to try to remove the glass from the windscreen.

I got all those bits off first, but there's like a small layer of glass attached to the windscreen. It covers a section about 0.5cm x 1cm. I thought about trying to scratch it off, but was worried I might do more damage.

Use a high pressure hose, see if it'll come off that way

I used to work at Autoglass, saw some funny things in my time, usually involving kettles of hot water and frosty mornings. One woman used a metal baking tray to scrape ice off of her really expensive car, only to scratch the glass in the doors, and because it wasn't a common car the glass would take a few days to order in, she went loopy because her husband was going to kill her :D

If the OP leaves it and it's in the swipe area of the wipers, it'll ruin the wipers. Could get expensive.

Try using sticky tape to lift the glass out, should minimize any risk of scratching.
