Ideas for glass bowl outside
I've got a glass bowl similar to the one pictured below although mine has a smaller neck to it and I was wondering if anyone can help me with ideas of what to put in it if I have it outside.
I was thinking of maybe having a miniature herb garden in there, do you think that this will work? Another idea was maybe to forget about plants have have either a light or some stones inside.
I'm going to be putting the bowl in a shady area as I'm sure that direct sunlight will just burn anything inside it.
Thanks.

You're probably right about things burning inside, and if you decide to put in a shady part of the garden then perhaps a solar-powered light will be perfect! You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt

Unfortunately, a solar light will want its solar panel to be in the sunshine for it to give off decent light.
You'll want to bear in mind that any rain will quickly fill it with water, so if you did use it as a planter, any plants in there would get waterlogged after a downpour and be sat in stagnant water.
If you just had stones in there, when it rains and fill with water the water will turn green very quickly due to all the light the algae would be getting.
I seriously cannot think of any use for one outside, unless you could place it somewhere with overhead shelter to prevent rain getting in, in which case I would fill it with pebbles and use it as an attractive candle hurricane for mild evenings on the patio.0 -
I filled something similar and surplus with pebbles and shells for outside. Joly_Roger is right-it just fills up with rain and goes green. It's boring to scrub everything clean, then immediately forget about it and leave it in the next rain shower. I had no trouble being patient and understanding when it got hit by a football.import this0

Maybe you could lay it on its side to keep the rain out, supported by Pebbles.
plant it with small Cacti or succulents.
