BT bill querry and help

Hi there,

Being new to the site and money saving (just done insurance) i thought i'd have a go at phone bill. I have a few querries and i thought i would ask here first before phoning BT.

Firstly i'm being charged £4.66 for Basic Value Plan, something i've never heard of, but from a quick search it would appear to be a now defunct ring back service. So i'm paying for a service that doesn't exist and i'm being charged for ringbacks.

My unlimited weeked plan is costing £12.79/month, yet according to the BT website it costs £9.49.

BT broadband option 2 is costing £22.99/month, yet according to BT website it should only be £20.99

And finally if you take both of these options BT reduce the combined monthly cost to £27.48 whereas i am paying £35.78.

I'm hoping that someone has advice so that i could claim a refund for being overcharged and get my prices down. I'm all ready looking at cheaper alternatives.

Any help is greatfully received.
Matt

To get BT line rental for £9.49 you need to pay 1 year of line rental in one go all in advance. Or, if you didn't want to do that you could switch to paper-free billing (to get a credit of £1.25 per month) and direct debit.

You'll need to switch Broadband plans to get the latest offerings or switch provider. It can all be done online.

Value Plan needs to be cancelled. It includes calling features and a bit of free calltime so you may have had some use out of it. What calling features do you "need"?

It's not BT's responsibility to tell you that you have been overcharged it's up to you to check regularly.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
