OK. Confession time. I read the Bonfire Night thread v. quickly (doing other stuff at work) and thought that Queenie was doing a "let's get ready for bonfire night" thread, like the OS Christmas thread. Duh!!!! Now I've re-read the whole thing properly I'm a)laughing my head off and b)blushing for posting without reading properly. Oh well........ back to work.0

I've got myself all into BFN mode now ... so, in the name of menu planning and budgeting (:whistle: ) I've located these sites which might be of interest ...
Bonfire Night Recipes and some more at Food for Guy Fawkes Night (lovely recipe for "Thor Cake" and I've just learned about a traditional cake made in Barbados called "Conkies", think those might be fun to make this year).

Between these cosy recipes and the constant rain today it does make me feel the summer is now over.
Sad to see the end of quick evening meal of cold meats, salad and new potatoes but looking forward to experimenting with these recipes for the slow cooker.
Main worry today is ....
Can I wear socks with my Crocs through the winter0 -

i haven't been on the daily threads for a few weeks now (although thinking about it, it may be months - sorry for general cr@pness!) - but i saw this one and it made me laugh!
right now it feels like november though - wet, cold, nasty and quite dark! time to get stocking up on stewing steak for some hearty food.:happyhear0
