Changing landline number

Hi does anyone know if I would be able to change my landline number, I am with sky and the number they gave me was the number the line was already connected with,but since having it installed just over a month ago I have been plagued with calls from debt collection agencies which are nothing to do with me!!!.It is getting to the stage where neither I or my children want to answer the phone:mad:

Your have to ask Sky their policy.
BT would normally allow you to change it once free of charge in your circumstances.0
