:j :j :T I got home late last night, DH and I had been away for a couple of days and as usual I checked on my bank account balances to find I had had my bank charges refunded. I can't describe how happy I am about it we will be able to pay off our overdrafts (£1650) and maybe one of our bank loans too, I will get a settlement figure later today.
Thanks to everyone on this site for spurring me on to do it especially kevicho and southern scouser. We might even have a little left to have some mad money each.
If some people are still wondering whether or not to claim I would say DO IT, it is YOUR money, get it back NOW!

I started this journey in May by requesting my bank statements but did not recieve these until around the 1st August. So it has taken from 1st August until 12th September from start to finish keeping to a very strict deadline.
I claimed charges from 2 bank accounts (that don't like to give you Xtra!) totalling £4550 plus £1589 in interest!!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -

Well done you!
I just sent off a claim form for Capital One (account closed). Not sure I dare do the same to First Direct and Natwest as I still deal with them and cannot afford to pay 'em back in full should they demand it. Once DFD comes around though you can betcha bum I will! x0 -

Yes the accounts are being kept open though we are going to close them because we have now got new accounts elsewhere. I have just cancelled our overdrafts with them and got a closing balance for our loan, it will leave us with £1000 which we are going to put into our DS1's savings account towards his school expedition trip to s.america next year.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0
