I got a quote with More Than, and it was excellent cover, with low instalments, so I rang to ask the question and was eventually told no, the woman I got had no idea what I was saying, she just didn't understand. so I asked to speak to someone else, she got her supervisor and he told me no, I'm high risk!

anyway, found an even better quote with co-op (although they will only go up to £2500 for any one personal item, which isn't enough for a ring I inherited, but the rest of the cover is great) so will ring them to confirm tomorrow

    thanks again everyone

pleased to hear the co-op have sorted things......if you need a little more cover i'm sure they can sort something OR try a local independant broker they sometimes can be pretty good as well

well I hope they have, will ring tomorrow to make sure for definite they will accept me.
I doubt I'll need more cover for it tbh, just more of peace of mind. I never take the ring out of the house, and it's only close family who know of it anyway.
just a bit gutted about more than, but with the way they treated me and spoke to when I called, I wouldn't go with them now
