Can I switch to online rate
Hi
I am currently with British Gas paying by direct debit for their standard rate. I do not wish to switch to another provider cos I owe about 200 hundred pounds wish I do not wish to pay back in one go (I am slowly paying it off by DD).
My question is - Can I take the online rate and get the discount or is this only for people switching from British Gas from another provider?
Thanks in advance

Yes, if you don't want to pay off the balance and stay with British Gas for a while you can switch to any of their other tariffs. Have a look on a comparison site to see what the cheapest tariff is in your region - and check when the tariff ends.
This'll probably be WebSaver 8 which 'ends' Oct 2011 (£30 per fuel penalty if you leave before then.) This should offer a significant saving on your ongoing use (but no retrospective money off your arrears )0 -
Thanks very much for your help, I will do some investigating and hopefully change over tonight :T0
