Home insurance contents claim

Hi,
My 32GB IPod touch has been water damaged at home and I've just spoken to my home insurer More Than. I'm trying to work out if making a claim is the best option or to just pay and get it repaired myself.
Ipod was bought for £230 and is 2 years old. Excess on the policy is £100. BUT - More than cannot tell me what effect this will make to my premiuim in the future, so if it's going to be massive then there is no point in making the claim.
If anyone has had something similar and knows how it affects the premium could you please let me know!

Noone can speculate with any accuracy how it will effect future insurance quotes what rates are now will not be rates come your renewal and the effect from one company to another will be huge.
What I can say for certainty is claiming for something relatevely small now could impact heavilly if you have to make claims in the future. Having 2/3 claims on record could result in insurers offering massive rates or even refusing you insurance and that is something I would bear in mind now not later.0
