Plastering quote help please!!

Hi all,

This is my first post am new member in Huddersfield area apologies if this post is long-winded!

I need the majority of the rooms in my house plastered so I can paint them as there is original wall (1900s) underneath the current (horrible) wallpaper.

Rooms are measured in feet as follows:

11 x 14
8.5 x 11
11 x 14
9.5 x 5
6 x 4

and a stariway!

I have NO clue what this would cost I am going to ring up for quotes this week but would greatly appreciaite if anyone has any idea of cost??

Thanks all:rotfl:

  • Hi Pennine,
Sorry, can't help with prices but I would strip all the walls before trying to get people in for quotes. You may be surprised, some of the walls may not need total replastering, you might get away with a skim. If you've still got the paper on a plasterer may have to err on the higher side when quoting to cover the worst case scenario.
There are quite a few plasterers on here, I'm sure someone will help with prices soon.
  • Im having my 3 bed Preston semi skimmed during October 2006 - best quote so far (and highly recommended) £1250.

Thats £1250 ALL IN (includes the labouring, plaster, browning, bonding, VAT etc)

Iv had other quotes for £1500, £1750, £1900 and the dearest at £2200!

A collegue of mine had his terraced property in Bolton skimmed by a polish bloke for £900 all in - Fantastic job.

(i thought id give you some actual prices - hopefully you now know roughly what you ought to be paying)
