help with DD foundation

I'm very pale skinned (see through blue rather than white!). As I'm skint many of the ranges are just too expensive to consider. I use mineral stuff from Elf (www.eyeslipsface.com I think) - it works with my very pale skin and is comparitively cheap if she ends up not liking it.
If she has good skin and few problems I'd try and steer her away from using full foundation - she might find it is the end of her good skin. I'd bad skin covered up with full make up for years. Eventually a dose of eczema on one half of my face forced me to wear no make up for about 3 months and my skin was so much better and I now wear very little on my skin. However, the cover up make up for her neck (the results from this can be amazing by the way) might be even less noticable if she is wearing full make up...?0 -
If she wants full coverage, then what about graftobian? You can buy it here:

They don't show the colors properly but you can see the shades at their own website

The brand is pretty well respected and not as expensive as premium brands. The palettes are quite handy if you need different shades throughout the year and you can of course mix them to get a closer shade match. It might be too heavy for her but you can always go over it with a damp sponge to sheer it out. If she needs a lot of coverage then graftobian HD foundation is worth a go.0 -
I second this recommendation - I discovered the EB range due to a discussion on another MSE thread. I have very pale pink-toned skin and suffer from quite severe acne - I use EB's "English Rose" foundation in "Healing" formulation, together with their "Fairly Light" concealer. People who don't look at me up close think I have amazing skin...Elemental Beauty do a good range of foundations which you can order small samples of to try before you buy. If none are right for you they can customise them for you to get one right for your skintone.
As they are mineral foundations they won't look too heavy on your daughters skin and will be better for the health of her skin compared to non-mineral brands.
I've had a pot of their foundation since November and still have loads left even with everyday use. As you only need a small bit it's very good for your purse as well:)
