Hello,
I need some advice regarding Car Insurance.
Here's the full story...
I have been lucky enough to have had a classic Chevrolet Camaro bought for me and it needs a little work.
I have never driven a car, I have always wanted too, but never got around to it.
The car is to be a project and I will be learning to drive while I do the work it needs.
I've spoken to a number of insurance companies and they have been as helpful and pleasant as a brick in the face, but the info I got was that I would require Laid Up insurance, but there was a series of huge snags:
I needed a lockable garage. (The car barely fits inside a uk garage).
A driving license for at least 5 years.
That the car needs to be either over a certain age (10-20+ years old) or be on the list asa classic car. (Most companies don't recognise my car as being over 10 years old - it's 26 years old - or as a classic car).
I was advised that there are companies that don't have such severe restrictions, but I can't find them.
Im not the boy-racer type, I don't want to thrash my car, I just want to patch it up and be able to drive it eventually.
Can anyone help me please - I don't even want to think of parting ways with her.
Thanks in advance.
