Lost Exam Certificates

I am currently applying for the PGCE course, and need to find out the examining boards for my A Levels and GCSEs (I can still remember my results!). I left school ten years ago and somewhere along the line have lost my certificates.
I took my GCSEs and most of my A Levels at school and have emailed them for the names of the examining boards. However I took one of my A Levels at college. I went online tonight to try to find contact details for college, only to find that it closed in 2001!
Any ideas on how I can find out the examining board for the A Level from college?!!

Good idea, but know someone that works there, and they don't hold the information, it is up to the individual college (if only it existed!).
Thanks for trying! xGone ... or have I?0 -
can you remember the names of any of your teachers and google them? or try and find someone else from your course on friendsreunited? (there may be a more 'official' route though!):happyhear0

Have you tried ringing the various exam boards?
Thats what I did. They asked me a few secruity questions and then hey presto confirmed what information I needed to know.0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for your advice.
I have found out that administration for the college was passed to another local college. I called them this morning ... and it turns out all the old records were lost in a fire last year! They have said they will write me a letter to this effect. I did my degree at the same uni that I am applying to, and will have a reference from them, so just hope this will be enough!
I have tried Googling my old lecturer, but cannot find her, and studied by distance learning so don't know any other students.
Am going to have a look in parents loft tomorrow ... otherwise looks like I just need to do some begging!
Thanks again xGone ... or have I?0
