Mothercare card / GE capital backed

Anyone had problems with over zealous and rude! GE money customer services re their dealing with Mothercare store card? Basically I paid a balance of £500 on 23/08 for a due date of the 30/08 at a lloyds bank as directed on my statement. Now been written to and phoned re my non payment of the minimum amount(£23!) due on the 30/08. Have given them my cheque amount, number and date (25/08) when the cheque left my account and still the correspondence flows plus the charges of £15 each for interest and late payment !! Not paying the charges but want to know if these fall within the same area as bank charges for o/drafts etc ie they have been shown to be unproportional to the true cost involved for the lender and hence can be challenged in court. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanx
