If there are no lights on at all when the ac adapter is plugged in then either:
a) the battery is flat and the fuse has blown in your adapter (check to see if there's a light on the black box - some don't have a light though) - try a new fuse in the mains plug.
b) Your motherboard has fried, hopefully it's under warrantyIT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0 -
Give the adaptor a little wiggle where it plugs into the laptop.
Try another Adaptor if you have one.
Have a look inside the adaptor socket, does anything look broken?
There should be a centre pin which slots through the centre of the adaptor plug0 -
no response think its gone to laptop heaven lol0

Don't give up so easily!
Try taking it somewhere where they'll let you try an alternative battery (on the premise of buynig it maybe).
If it works, clearly a charging or battery problem.
Exhaust a few options before forking out for a new laptop, not very "money-saving" is it?Friendly greeting!0
