Stoozing a Charge Card?

I use an Amex Charge Card for a lot of my regular spending. OK, there's an annual fee but reward points and some of the card benefits compensate somewhat. It's occurred to me that this is like an interest free credit card but only for a month at a time because it has to be paid off every time. However, there's usually several hundred pounds sitting in my current account at the end of the month waiting for the Amex bill. As a slow stoozing variation, I've decided to transfer funds as and when spent on the card from my current account into a 2.8% Egg Internet Account then pull out enough towards the end of the month to pay the card off. Obviously not as good as an interest free CC but averaged over a year it should boost the interest on the savings account a bit. Am I becoming an MSE obsessive saddo?
