I had a horrible experience today.

    Picked up £16.52 worth of products Before bogof, handed over 1 x £2.50 and 4 x £1 and 3x 50 points. Also, a 20p nandos coupon.

My usual lovely cashier, however, today she took the vouchers, while her eyes frantically searched the store for a manager. She said they had to call a manager over all the time now to check which vouchers are being used etc.

So over comes the manager, and says I can only use 1 x £2.50, so I said "well, can't I at least use a few of the points ones?" To which he replied "oh, they are point ones are there?" and proceeded to add the 3 on, so 150 points.

Point is, I missed out on having £4 off my shopping, and I wouldn't have purchased these items without the discount. Did still get bargains though.

To add insult to the injury, one deodrant which was suppose to be half price, I was charged full on, so back I went for my R&R (only 2nd R&R ever! But I was deflated, so thought I'd better at least get this). The lady was lovely, she explained that the SEL had run out in October and said "nevermind, still have to give you the refund" She then handed back over the money and the receipt, and looked at the deodrant, I swiped it and said "thanks!" I don't think she was going to give it back! LOL.

Moral of the (long) story? I'm going back to using coupons for products I've purchased, going back to only using 1 or 2 of these toiletry vouchers, probably £1 and 1x50 point one. I'm not confident enough, and these situations leave me with a shaky feeling (silly I know, but it does!)

Best of luck to you guys! I will live through you and remain envious!

In the meantime, I've got two batches of vouchers I'm giving away, so will search this thread to those who haven't had an opportunity to take advantage of this great deal.

firstly charlene thanks again for the vouchers you sent me.i also had the same experience with the cashier called the super visor .the thing we all have to realise with coupons/vouchers is that it is swings and roundabouts.chin up ready for the next shop:j
  • Yes CharleneUK - big cyber hug to you, when I first started using vouchers, I remember I had X amount in my bank acount to use for shopping, in my naviety I believed that it would be covered by the amount in the account minus the vouchers I was handing over. However, my vouchers were refused and I left the store thinking how on earth was I going to juggle my money that week.

I try to maximise my vouchers each week but I still do, and I think always will have a degree of nervousness when I hand them over.

  • Lovely exp in Tesco's this evening - 6 books mispriced and had to go to CS to get it sorted, all the books were priced at different prices, some £3.97, some £3.73,
Anyway, CS called over the duty manager whilst I had gone to change one of them because the cover was torn slightly. I came back with the one priced at £4.97( the price I'd been charged for all of them) and immediately said to the chap ' I could only find this one - why are they priced different'
He was mortified, poor chap and immediately told CS to refund me the whole lot.
Whilst he was there I thought I'd ask him 'What category is feminine hygiene for the H and B vouchers'. He was so overcome with embarassment about the books he let me use 3 of the £1 healthcare ones against a shop worth just over £4. He made some comment about the massive profit they had made!!

He suggested that if I had any more, then to go to the CS stand in any store ask them to clarify which vouchers work against feminine hygiene and if they don't scan then CS have to refund the vouchers for you.

6 books and 3 large size hygiene packs for just over £1!!!!:A
  • I was literally "saved by the bell" when using my vouchers dinner time. Had picked up 2 olay bath foam and 2 hand washes plus a couple of other items. Handed over the vouchers and the sa said i can't take all these. The fire alarm bell sounded and they evacuated the store. So i had to leave items on conveyor.

Called in one way home and nice young lad accepted them all.

Yes these offers end on the 10th, so will be up nice and early on wednesday to calculate the new offers in conjunction with the vouchers.
  • The 11th Oct is a very good day for all us Tesco'ers because not only do we get our new Health and Beauty deals but we'll also be hoping for a shed load of wine for free on R&R... anyone noticed the amount of booze deals ending on 10th Oct? Fingers crossed for a couple of free bottles of Champagne to all fellow MSE's!!!
