Deposit on car with no V5

Hi,
I put a £200 deposit on a car on the 16/07/2010. The dealer got the car from an auction and it had no V5.
Obviously I don't want to buy this without the log book.
They told me that they have to register it again and will take a week or so.
I have had a quick look into this and they must of had to use the v62 form.
My question is, how long will it take from submission of v62 to receiving the v5 in the post. it has already been over 2 weeks. I am now desperate for the car. I got a really good deal so I dont want to give the deposit back and look for another car.
Has anyone been in a similar predicament?
Cheers
Joe

i can't remember what Vform is what etc.
but i once lost my V5c and had to get a replacement, came within 2 weeks from memory.
i wouldn't buy anycar or non-refundable deposit without knowing the car V5c etc.0 -
Would say anything from 2-6 weeks.
Keep chasing the dealer up; they have sold this car now and it may be that they are slower to process this sale than seeking fresh sales.0 -
from section E of v62 form you should receive v5c within: 2 weeks if you are already the registered keeper or 4 weeks if there has been a change of keeper however if you do not receive it in this time please allow 6 weeks before contacting us0

Up to 6 weeks, but sometimes as quick as 2 weeks
Hope you enjoy your new car
