Received only half the set?

Options
Hi,can someone give me some advice on where I stand please.I purchased a set of garden furniture from my local Asda last week. 8 piece set reduced from 100 pounds to 35. I realised yesterday that the box I picked up was only 8 chairs and marked box 1 of 2 . This morning I phoned Asda and was told they had been reduced because they had no box 2 (although this was not stated on the pos) and if I didnt want the chairs I could return them for a refund ,I just want what I was led to believe I was purchasing! Where do I stand? thanks.

Anywhere except where the chairs are?

As above take the refund if you are not happy.
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

I'm afraid you can't force them to sell you anything. If they don't have any of the 'box 2' then either accept just the one box (half the set) or get a refund.

Maybe they'll offer a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused by not properly labelling the goods, but they don't have to and Trading Standards will only do something if they do this sort of thing regularly/on purpose. To be honest it sounds like a mistake by shop staff so this isn't likely. Sorry.
