    9.30am london and 10am elsewhere. however railcards CAN mean you can travel in peak times, totally depends on journey and train company.

    Most of the time its down to the Train Operating company that your travelling on;

    Virgin Trains
    East Coast Trains
    Scotrail

    Are a few I found details for, the rest refer to the Journey Planner on National rail website or give a Phone number to phone for more details.

    I can now see how easy it is for people to get on a Peak train with an Off Peak ticket and face the prospect of an additional fare. Sounds like a covert move by some Train Companies to introduce a cash cow into the system.

    And apparently the rail industry's answer is 'its the responsibility of the traveller to ensure they have the correct ticket for travel' nice

    this isnt with a railcard. its a monthly saver period off peak return. i thought off peak was maybe after 9 am or thereabouts?

    just tried ringing the rail enquiries line and got bangla desh i think and iwht my hearing it was definately a no-no. they first started to tell me that the rail route i was asking for, which i have done every week fr the more than four years, doesnt exist, and if it doesnt come up on thecomputer, they cant answer the question. what a loud of rubbish.xxx

    check the website with whichever network provides that card. it will have the times there. but i doubt it's valid before 10am.
