Barclays Rant

Options
Opened two savings accounts with them last week, the woman wouldn't leave me go until I had opened them and even though I didn't have my ID on me she still insisted we went through it and even followed me home so she could get it.
Should have known then that things were going to go wrong.

Anyway, I agreed to put 1k in one account and 500 a month into the second one (an ISA).

Just checked online and they've taken 1k for the ISA too! They left with me less than £100 for the month! Its just lucky that my car finance doesn't come out until the 7th(ish) or I would be overdrawn right now (which they would probably charge me for).

I've just had to phone them up to transfer the £500 back over and even though its the banks fault, they may not be able to reset my ISA so I can put the full amount in.

Does anyone know if I can close these savings accounts now? I think I'd rather go with someone else after this mess.

You cant be serious, she followed you home just for the ID, why did you not just say you will leave it till the next day and you would come back with your ID

You could do online banking with them I do it's so much easier you can transfer your money around without having to ring them all the time

I tried asking to leave it and taking it in another day but she said she needed it then to finish everything otherwise i would have to start all over again. I was going to be late for work so couldn't sit there and argue with her. I only went in to pay in a cheque, almost two hours later I was still there!

If its just the £500 i'll lose from my ISA then I probably will leave them, but losing 1k of my allowance is quite a lot.

Don't forget to lodge a complaint!!

Barclays are useless! My OH paid off his Barclays loan from his Barclays bank account, and they cancelled the monthly direct debit as the loan was now paid.

    Simple enough?

Well, the money went out from his account, but they don't know where it's gone, and the loan still exists. Even worse, they just sent him a red letter for missing a loan payment, even though they cancelled the direct debit as the loan was paid off. OH is furious with them!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
