Beware of barclaycard!

If I explained the issues I have had over the last three weeks this thread would be as long as War and Peace so I will abbreviate! Via this site I applied for Barclaycard Platinum CC so as to transfer a large balance from my Post Office Card where my 0% interest is soon to expire. (Im a Card Tart!). I filled in the form online (including the part that asks how much I want to transfer), got accepted and received my Barclaycard Platinum card (Platinum being written on the form and on the card!!) I tried to transfer a balance and was told that wasnt part of the offer!! NUMEROUS calls to India CS later, extensive minutes on hold each time, repeated ramblings explaining the same old problem and never ever being able to get hold of the Customer Services Manager in the UK he FINALLY called me today! He actually told me that even though I applied for the card with balance transfer option they dont do it anymore and that they offer the customer another option (Simplicity Card). WELL THEY DIDNT TELL ME THIS WHEN APPLYING!!! He then offered me compensation for the calls I had made (just as well!") but then asked me for my bank details over the phone !!!! (Of course I didnt give them as he had them anyway from the form I had already completed!!!) Needless to say I had the account closed and have cut the card up. I am VERY VERY anoyed and disappointed at such a large company and frankly I will be more careful with the reccomendations given here.:mad::mad::mad:

When applying for most cards, the t&c says that if you do not qualify for the card you are applying or the conditions change between the application and you getting approved then then they could provide you with another card. Seems this has happened in your case.

I am very aware of Barclaycard and have been a customer for some years now but thanks :A
