Loads of good advice given. I have an annabel karmel book and it's brilliant. Just look in your fridge and see what veg you have then cook it all up and mix together in the blender. My son is 7 months old too, so we're in the same place as you with this! :) I also give him finger foods while we're eating tea. None of our food is salted anyway because we have a 2 year old DD, so i give him bits off my plate. Not into his mouth, just on his highchair. He is practicing picking up chunks and sucking on them. Ha ha!

DD is 8 years old DS1 is 6 years old

DS basically got what we were having, with less salt (although I always use not much salt anyway), and obviously being careful, on the whole, and perhaps a few jars when we were out and about.
    He loved :
    mince, tatties and carrots
    tuna, mash and sweetcorn
    pasta with bits of ham
chicken, tatties, veggies such as peas
    mac cheese
    sausages in any form
    hm pizza slices

bread/toast (spread, cheese, jam, honey etc)
    wraps- change from bread
    breadsticks
    cheesey biccies
    pancakes

    porridge with fruit in
natural yoghurt with fruit added (puree if you like) or honey

    grapes
    strawberries
    blueberries
    dried fruits

Hello couldnt find an existing thread and wondered if people could share baby food recipes that their babies enjoy or did so in the past.

Heres one of ours (will add some more later)

    FISH PIE

    100gms pollock
    100gms haddock

160mls milk (full fat, expressed breast milk or normal formula)
    tablespoon flour
    teaspoon unsalted butter
    50gms cheese

    large potato or sweet potato
    1 carrot
    1/4 medium swede

    1. Peel and chop the veg and boil and the mash or blend with hand blender

    2. mix the butter and flour in a pan and add milk whisking and bring to boil, add cheese, whisk until thickens

    3. break up the fish in to small pieces and add to the white sauce

    4. put fish white sauce into small ramekins and top with mashed veg

    5. bake in oven for 25mins at 180 or Freeze them for another day - keep in freezer for 4wks and can be baked from frozen for 40mins or defrosted and cooked for 25mins.

My 9mth old eats one of these if we fill a ramekin about 3/4 full

*cheapest way we have found to buy ramekins is to buy the twin pack of souffles from marks and spencer and then you have the ramekin dishes after and they are just the right size*

    Hi freebiequennie,,

Thanks for the recipe, it sounds lovely. :) There is an existing thread so I'll add your thread to it later to keep the recipes in one place.

at seven months babies usually enjoy what the family enjoy what the family eat, only theirs gets mashed up a bit! NOT pureed, but mashed with a fork so that any bones or gristle etc is taken out! I wouldnt worry about spices etc, as long as its kept mild. most babies that I have known have loved curry. roasted veg too. they also love sweet potato and roasted butternut squash! my grandson loves peas and sweetcorn and so do the other grandkids.
