Accountant charges too much - what to do??

    Did you get a written estimate? Even if it was verbal, that should be binding.

    I would suggest in future you do your own tax return. It is not difficult.

    In my experience a good accountant is worth his fee, but a bad one is worse than useless.

    He hasn't given me any tax advice in that period, not even one advice, he only made the return.


    Just query it like any other invoice dispute. Contact him and say you haven't received any tax advice, ask him to back it up. If he can't withhold payment.
