Hi there,
I am not massively computer literate but i am after a laptop around £599 with some good power and a fairly good graphics card for games..
Only real stipulation is that it has to be Intel not AMD...
I'm not a massive games player but would be nice to know it plays the top games playable in 6 months time...
I know it won't play everything full resolution and quality..
Just need a bit of help and guidance really...
Thanks in advance guys
Thanks
Lee

My main tip for graphics, go for ATi over Nvidia - I've fixed about 3 burnt out ATi graphics this year, and about a dozen Nvidia every week!
quick shufti at ebuyer, came up with this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/199174
Decent components (although Acer support is pretty dire if anything goes wrong).IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer

Can you believe it, that Dell Studio 15 doesn't have a dual layer DVD..0

Hi there, its doesn't explicitly say it supports dual layer but if you click the question mark icon next to the optical drive section, a pop up appears and it says in there that you can use dual layer discs up to 8.5gb. Most if not all modern drives will do dual layer so I'd be very surprised if it didnt!

Thats what i thought..... but i spoke to a technician on the live chat and she told me its single layer only...
But then that doesn't really say anything either lol
I would be suprised if it doesn't even read DL but i need to write DL0 -
I'd give them a call. Even my 4 year old Advent will read & write dual layer discs!
