We have a joint account, no mortgage or CC's.
The joint account will link you.
I would definitely put a hold on any more applications until you're showing up the electoral roll, it'll be a waste of a search IMO.
Not sure why you wouldn't want your missus on at the same place, it would certainly look odd to me (wouldn't it to you?) but couldn't comment on the effect on an application. Is there a reason she isn't / won't be showing at the same address?
Also, how long have you been at your previous address, credit companies are not a big fan of people who frequently change address as it's a measure of instability. Another one is job security, they like long term employment.
It might be worth getting the old £2 searches done on the pair of you while your waiting for the electoral roll. Also, a quick visit over at the Debt Free Wannabe board might help reduce the debts you have, especially important to make the most of that 0%.0 -

No reason, just curious, I will get her to fill out the forms to get us both on the electoral roll asap.
Our address history has been a little jumpy as we were both living with parents then moved into rented accommodation for a year, unfortunately my wife got made redundant and we had to move back in with parents again for a years, then in the last two months we have moved back out now she is back in full time employment.
I have been in the same job for nearly 5 years, but my wife has only been at hers for 9 months.
Thanks for all your help Dabooka!0 -

Try clicking here for the links. Basically, the credit reference agencies (there are 3, Experian, Equifax and Callcredit although Callcredit are smaller and not as reported too as often) are obliged to give you access to your credit report for a fee of £2 each. These are now available online as opposed to being dumped through the post to you, but my advice after seeing the reports on here and watching my mate go through the hassle is to get them posted out. It doesn't seem any slower and there's no messing around.
These reports are the basis of what lenders know of you to assess if they'll extend you a line of credit, and show up any accounts in arrears, defaults, County Court Judgments (CCjs) etc. It's important to know what they hold on you to allow you to see areas that may affect your chances, such as exposure to available credit, defaulted accounts or missed payments, or even just simple errors.
From what you've said I suspect the jumping around will have had an impact; I had the same thing, moved out of my old flat, house sat a friends gaff for 4 months while looking to buy with the missus and then moved in to our home. Result was three addresses in six months! Been there two years this month, so things will start to improve now.
Word of advice. Don't be sucked in to the "Free trial" they'll offer instead of paying the £2 (you'll have seen the horrible ads on telly for creditexpert?) unless you're REALLY sharp on cancelling them, or you'll be hit with £7 / month! And don't worry about paying for a score, as these numbers are worthless.0
