Hi there
I have wee (dancing, clog wearing) mice in my loft, they are coming up the cavity walls, god knows how they are getting in, I had a builder seal all gaps with mortar.
Anyway, I have bought one of those sonic/electrical thingys.
All well and good but have no socket in the loft (blonde) and the sonic thingy needs to be there.
I want to drill through into a fitted wardrobe that has a socket and run an extention lead.
I have a new build - will the celing in the wardrobe be the loft floor ?
Cheers

I had a problem with mice, they were getting in through the vents in a air brick which was level with my decking, i could just squeeze the tip of my little finger in the holes so they can get in pretty much any gap. I tried poison but eventually used good old fashioned mouse traps caught 8 very quickly. To be honest i would not bother using sonic repellent and drilling things, your better off trapping them as they cause quite a bit of damage.0

Thanks for the advice but I live alone and am not trailing into the loft to move their wee dead bodies and reset traps unless I have exhausted all other options !
I am such a girly !

Had the same problem and traps are the only option. Be warned they love electric cable insulation!!!!!
P.S.Best trap bait is chocolate0 -
I had the same problem and as above found that good old fashioned mouse traps did the trick. They are really cheap so you can set a number at one time and only change them every week.
Put them near the trap door and you will not need to climb right into the loft.
What are you - a girl or a mouse ?? (lol)I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

dynamite gets rid of most houshold pests!
Yes they ptobably are getting in through air bricks and vents. Is there anyway you can cover the vents with fine mesh? The measure of love is love without measure0 -
Thanks for the advice, I like the mesh on the air vent tip !
I repeat the TRAP thing is NOT HAPPENING ! I am in the country it would be a daily job in the winter.
I am off to fit the sonic blaster with fingers crossed.

Your local council will come and lay traps/poison - but they will charge. However, you would save on the cost of that sonic thing.
AFAIK, there is conflicting evidence as to whether those sonic things actually work. Some say they do, others are very sceptical. If it does work, then you can bet the mice will come back once you switch it off - unless you're planning to run it forever?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Hi there
I had our council out last year (west lothian) they were great and free. They set traps and poision and caught some. They said I needed to stop them getting in or it would just carry on.
I had a builder mortar all the holes outside, under steps and around overflow pipes ect, as soon as we stopped the traps they were back.
They are wee field mice and don't come in during the summer but now the nights are turning cooler they are back. Someone here in another post said the sonic thing did work. If it needs to run all winter it will be worth it for my sanity ! It has a money back policy so worth a try.
