Primus refusing to allow use of indirect access codes on my line

As per title
I recently moved to a new property & went with Primus for my phone line
I found I was unable to use any indirect access codes
To cut a long story short Primus are currently refusing to remove the bar on the use of such codes
I pointed out the webpage
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/home-phone-calls
where it mentions the written guarantee
Today a customer rep said he would "escalate" the issue to one or more line managers so waiting the outcome of that
Im quite annoyed at this as the main reason I chose primus is because I expected to be able to use override providers
Anybody else had this ? (& if so what was the outcome)

Hi Ingio,
I've PM'd you.
Thanks

It says "Allows use of override providers? Yes (In Jan 10 gave MSE written guarantee to stay open until the end of the year at least). "
Which doesnt make sense.
Is it suppose to mean they gave MSE guarantee that they would allow indirect access codes to end of 2010 at least.0 -
Should've gone to [STRIKE]Specsavers[/STRIKE] BT !

Personally, the classic, "It's a sign, it's a sign" springs to mind.
I thought, from the start, that the 'promise' given to Martin was carefully worded.
IIRC, it costs them 50p per line to bar each prefix.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
MSE Archna contacted primus for me & I am now able to use indirect access codes
With MSE websites help it took under 24 hours to resolve a problem I have being trying to resolve myself for almost a month0 -

I'm considering moving to Primus - what are "indirect access codes"??
Also can one keep their previous phone number?0 -
Indirect access codes are prefixes which, from a BT line, you can dial to get a cheaper rate for a particular call (e.g. 5p connection and 0p per minute to call a UK 01 or 02 number at any time).
The most popular 3 are:
18185 - http://18185.co.uk/index2.php
1899 - http://www.call1899.co.uk/index2.php
18866 - http://call18866.co.uk/index2.php
All are run by the same (Swiss) company but individual call prices vary (although 18185 appears to be the cheapest for most types of calls).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
