AAARGGGHHH - Wireless internet

Im currently on telewest broadband and am looking to buy a wireless router thing so I can connect my laptop wirelessly while the other half is on the PC. He doest have a wireless card in his computer and its not something I really want to purchase as we will probably get rid of the PC at xmas and get another laptop.

Anyway, I need a wireless router and I have read so much information but it doesnt make sense to me in the slightest, so I dont even know what im looking for. I want to purchase asap. I need something to make internet work on the PC through a cable and through a laptop wirelessly at the same time. What do I need to buy (the bigger the bargain the better!)

If the other half has an ethernet card in the PC, and it is near the phone point, you can use it at the same time with a wired connection.
