I was recently looking at underlay on www.tradepriced.co.uk and noticed something about caravan, boat and made to order mattresses. Might be worth having a look on their website.

I bought a bed years ago for my son and it needed to be shortened and they did it on site for no extra charge, is the OP in London only problem is they are not budget but the frame will last a lifetime.

They are actually adding a huge mark up for mattresses that they probably buy in.

Thanks for all your replies, but it seems obvious to me there is a niche in the market to fill for some enterprising manufacturer as this type of bed is hard to get.

Have you ignored all my posts?????

As I keep saying, most independent manufacturers will manufacture a bed to your required length for not much extra (probably about £20 over the normal price.

    hi
im not sure where you are based but there is a Bed Shop in Wrexham, North Wales who will do this for you.
We got one specially made for our box room as it is very small and it was about £100 only. this was about 2 yrs ago.
But i have since been back to purchase a double for another room and he gave us the option to shorten it again, but we didn't need it this time.
i can dig out the name if you want. :)
Saying Thank You doesn't cost anything

You're soundly desperate, mate. I already thanked you.

But I did take your advise and have just got back from ordering at a shop in the next town. 90cm x 180cm £60 + £10 delivery next Tuesday. A good result. Thanks to all.

Sorry I must have missed that. It seemed that you were asking the same questions over and over, when I had already given you the answer.

Well done. It just goes to prove that some companies rip people off, and some don't.
